At The Early Music Shop in Saltaire we have two purpose built teaching studios and currently offer instrumental tuition on the Viola da Gamba, Recorder and Lute.
All are welcome, with lessons are aimed at both newcomers and regular pupils.

Mary Tyers is an experienced and enthusiastic teacher, conductor and performer, who delights in helping the amateur musician enjoy and understand the music they both love to play. She has over thirty years’ experience as a teacher; she also tutors on residential courses and summer schools, including NORVIS and HISS; and is in demand as a poplar visiting conductor to SRP branches and festivals.

Jacob Heringman studied with Jakob Lindberg at the Royal College of Music in London, and later with Pat O'Brien in New York. He has established himself as one of the world’s most respected and most innovative solo lute players, and has made many CD and radio recordings of medieval and renaissance music with leading English ensembles, including The Rose Consort of Viols, Fretwork, Musicians of the Globe, The Kings Singers, The New London Consort, Virelai and The Dufay Collective.
VIOL - with Susanna Pell
Viol player Susanna Pell has spent the first 25 years of her career touring the world and making many highly acclaimed recordings with the ensembles Fretwork and The Dufay Collective.
