Heller straight cornetto in a a=440, Berlin model. This instrument is based on an original in the Wenceslas Church in Naumburg and is an outstanding example of German cornetto development. It has a separate mouthpiece, and has excellent dynamic capabilities that allow it to blend well with shawms. *Note: Whilst this instrument is described as being in A, the fingering scale is actually G. Basically, the little finger hole which would normally play G when all holes are covered, is missing.
Heller has over 20 years experience as a player and maker of renaissance wind instruments. He has studied many museum originals and gained experience in instrument making working alongside John Hanchet. As a cornettist he founded and now directs the ensemble Locco Barocco (music of the early Baroque) and the ensemble Rabaskadol. He also plays bagpipes and shawms..
