Moulder Spanish soprano shawm in d. The design for the shawm by Eric Moulder is based upon one which can be clearly seen in a painting by Hans Memling c.1480 in Najera, Spain. The instrument has a wider conical bore than a renaissance shawm which allows for a smaller flare to the bell making it easier and more economical to produce.
