Moeck crumhorn alto in g. Crumhorns are by far the most common of the windcap instruments. The name crumhorn itself appears as early as 1489 with reference to an organ stop, suggesting that the instrument itself predates this reference. They have a strident, buzzy sound with a range of just over an octave. Some models have extra keys to provide a chromatic upward extension. Moeck's historical instrument studio produce this impressive alto crumhorn in g which was originally designed by Otto Steinkopf. The crumhorn is made from oiled maple, using a cane reed to give a very full, typically strident sound.
With hard case, fingering chart, joint grease and care and maintenance instructions.
NB. This is an Alto in G Crumhorn which is supplied without any upward extension keys. The photograph is of an Alto in F Crumhorn with upward extension keys and is used for illustration purposes only. For further details, please do not hesitate to contact us.
