4413 alto in boxwood. MARSYAS recorders are the result of years of research by Heinz Ammann. They are professional instruments which are manufactured partly industrially and partly by hand. The recorders are produced by Küng recorders of Schaffhausen, Switzerland and are then tuned and voiced by hand. Profound knowledge and versatile technical possibilities are thus brought together to make the instruments.
The MARSYAS instruments are designed according to baroque principles and they offer dynamic playing and effortless response in all registers. During the tuning process, special care is taken to ensure a colorful, clear sound and a balanced pitch. The unmistakable outer shape, which was exclusively designed for MARSYAS recorders, is a particularly attractive and elegant detail.
