Handel In The Wind

Following the success of their programmes of Bach (‘Johann I’m Only Dancing’) and Vivaldi (‘Carnival of the Seasons’) Red Priest will take us on a whirlwind tour through the music of that other titan of the baroque, Georg Frederick Handel. Their new programme includes sonatas, chaconnes and virtuoso variations, transcriptions both sublime and tempestuous and an audacious suite drawn from his most celebrated work, The Messiah

Programme to include: Suite from the Messiah, Largo and Passacaglia in G minor, the ‘Harmonious Blacksmith’ Variations, Improvisation on ‘Lascia Ch’Io Pianga’, Recorder Sonata in B minor

Around 100 instrument makers from around the globe, shops, music publishers, recording companies, societies and forums all gathered under one roof. This is the perfect opportunity to compare, contrast and hopefully buy the instrument you had always promised yourself! Instruments on display and for sale will include recorders, flutes, crumhorns, shawms, lutes, viols, fiddles, baroque violins, rebecs, harps, hurdy-gurdies, drums, tabors, harpsichords, spinets, organs and clavichords plus a superb collection of sheet music, facsimiles, books, CDs and accessories.
