Auditions courses to take place in April for EUBO 2013
14 Feb 2013
A New Year dawns for the European Union Baroque Orchestra!
Applications are invited for the 2013 orchestra: young musicians can apply for a coveted place on EUBO’s Orchestral Audition Courses. Taking place between 2 and 8 April at EUBO's 'home' in Echternach, Luxembourg, the courses are under the overall direction of Lars Ulrik Mortensen and Margaret Faultless; students will work with some of the worlds finest baroque musicians, Sirkka-Liisa Kaakinen-Pilch (violin), Anton Steck (violin), Richard Gwilt (viola), Kristin von der Goltz (cello), and four former members of EUBO, who are all at the top of the profession: Love Persson (double bass), Katharina Arfken (oboe), Alberto Grazzi (bassoon) and Béatrice Martin (harpsichord).
Although applications have only just opened, many of the 45 places at each course have already been snapped up. As usual there is huge competition for cellos, and to date six bassoonists have registered! Applicants are coming from all over Europe, and encouragingly this year, from Lithuania, Finland, Liechtenstein, Hungary, Belgium, in addition to the 'larger' countries such as UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy. The application is available online at http://cubikmail.co.uk/1C4B-198C8-8WIYTL-I03PE-1/c.aspx until the closing date Monday 18 March 2013.
