Chiltern Street has been a fantastic location, but having outgrown our space we leave the tranquility of the street to take up residence at the heart of London’s cultural music hub in Denmark Street, WC2.

The London Recorder Centre, as a specialist outlet, has been providing expert recorder knowledge and instruments to many musicians from the Early Music scene for the past 12 years. The move to Denmark Street and change of name will enable us to meet an increased customer demand for other early musical instruments and provide a fuller service to include harps, viols, lutes, drums and woodwind, as well as an expanded sheet music and CD repertoire.


The new Early Music Shop London is a stones throw from Tottenham Court Road Underground station,  the shop entrance is next to Rose Morris. Come and visit us when you are in town, we will be delighted to see you. If there is something specific you require, call ahead and we will make sure your item is in stock for when you arrive.  We also offer appointments with specialists to help you choose the perfect instrument.
 
In addition to a well-stocked shop and great service, Denmark Street, WC2 is fortunate to be one of the few roads in London to retain its 17th-century terraced façades.  We are sure all these special touches will contribute towards us settling in nicely.


The London Recorder Centre for the past 6 years, has been managed by Rachael Hatton, a past scholar of Trinity College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music.  Her passion for the Early Music scene is prevalent in the highly motivated team of experts, including a leading young cornetto player, recorder undergraduate and baroque violinist currently working at the London branch of the Early Music Shop.  During the past 2 years the business has grown and thrived under the umbrella of Music Sales Group and we look forward to the new title  of Early Music Shop - London,  providing you with a service second-to-none.
