The Early Music Shop is delighted to present a return concert at Salts Mill by Red Priest,
one of the UK’s pre-eminent baroque music ensembles. Red Priest has
redefined the art of baroque music performance, combining the fruits of
extensive research with swashbuckling virtuosity, creative
re-composition, heart-on-sleeve emotion and compelling stagecraft. The
group performs largely from memory, allowing an operatic level of
freedom and interaction, a nd its programs are drawn from myriad
baroque sources to create a kaleidoscopic range of moods and colours.
They have made numerous Radio and TV broadcasts including a major TV
documentary for the South Bank Show (ITV 1), and a series of CD
recordings, including their latest project “Johann, I'm Only Dancing" (available in 2010).
